Fingers, F-Bombs, And Hypocrisy: Cuomo Blasts Former CNN Colleague After On-Air Blowout

A heated exchange on CNN has spilled over into a public feud, with NewsNation host Chris Cuomo taking aim at his former colleague Scott Jennings following a series of aggressive panel confrontations.

The friction began during Thursday’s installment of CNN NewsNight, when MeidasTouch contributor Adam Mockler challenged Jennings over his record during the George W. Bush administration.

Mockler criticized Jennings’ support for Middle Eastern conflicts, suggesting the former White House staffer was “happy to defend a war” that would increase national debt.

“I was only a few years old while you were in the administration defending prior endless wars,” Mockler told the 48-year-old commentator. “Now this war is failing.”

The debate took a sharp turn when Jennings compared Mockler to a “gnat” and eventually shouted, “Get your f*cking hand out of my face!” Review of the footage showed Mockler’s hand was not in immediate proximity to Jennings.

Cuomo addressed the incident Tuesday night on his self-titled NewsNation show, labeling Jennings “CNN’s resident MAGA-lomaniac” and questioning the maturity of the exchange.

“Now, when this happened, I asked, what 48-year-old man talks to a kid 25 years younger than him like that?” Cuomo said. “One who’s got nothing else. When one who did work for the Bush administration that sold us the BS about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, you’d think he’d have some type of shame.”

Cuomo didn’t stop at the Mockler incident. He accused Jennings of “playing the rage bait game” and provided what he called “the receipts” regarding Jennings’ own behavior.

He aired a clip from October 2024 showing Jennings in a confrontation with academic Michael Eric Dyson. In that footage, Jennings pointed a finger at Dyson and lunged forward, leading Dyson to remark, “You put your finger in my face, and you are aggressive.”

Jennings had responded to Dyson by folding his arms and saying, “Brother, don’t start with me.”

Mocking the posture, Cuomo called Jennings a “punk” and praised Dyson’s composure. “He handled it differently because he has a better handle on adulting than Jennings,” Cuomo said.

In a follow-up interview on Cuomo’s program, Mockler blasted the encounter, telling the host that Jennings is “a big ahole on that show.” Jennings has not yet issued a formal response to Cuomo’s segment.
