Fire Claims A Single-Family Home Overnight, One Injury

BRADENTON, Fla. – Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue units responded to a reported building fire on Sunday at 11:52 PM at 337 Suwanee Avenue. 

Fire Rescue responded to the fire with 4 Engines, 1 Ladder a Battalion Chief and multiple support staff.

Cedar Hammock was assisted by Manatee County EMS, Southern Manatee Fire Rescue, and the Manatee County Sherriff’s Department. Crews arrived within 3 minutes of receiving the call and found heavy smoke coming from a single-family residence.

Fire crews immediately began an aggressive fire attack and search of the residence. The fire was reported out within 60 minutes of units arriving on the scene.

One civilian was transported for smoke inhalation.  No injuries to responders were reported. The fire cause was ruled as “undetermined” by Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue after a fire investigation was completed. The building sustained extensive damage and is deemed a total loss.
