Fire Crew Knocks Down Blaze At Tampa Commercial Scrap Yard

TAMPA, Fla. – Firefighters quickly brought a commercial scrap yard fire under control in Tampa on Wednesday morning, according to Tampa Fire Rescue.

Crews responded to a call on the 5100 block of N. 47th St. at 11:40 a.m. The first units on scene reported a heavy column of smoke rising from the property and immediately upgraded the incident to a working fire response.

Upon reaching the rear of the building, firefighters encountered dense smoke and active flames. Ground crews launched an aggressive attack, containing the fire within roughly 30 minutes of arrival.

Authorities reported no injuries to either civilians or firefighters at the scene.

Tampa Fire Rescue investigators were called to the location, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
