A former Mississippi middle school teacher, Wilson Frederick Jones, 30, who was fired after allegedly being caught producing AI-generated child sexual abuse material (CSAM), was later hired by the Mississippi Department of Child Protective Services (MDCPS).

The Corinth School District employed Jones until November 2024, when he was allegedly found to have used his school computer to create CSAM that included the likenesses of underage female students.

He was terminated on November 20, 2024, but was allowed to resign, agreeing not to appeal his termination, before being arrested in early December 2024 by the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.

Despite his arrest, Jones applied for and was subsequently hired by the MDCPS as a Social Service Specialist II, beginning work on February 18, 2025.

Court documents indicate that during the application process, Jones specifically asked the agency “not to contact the Corinth School District” regarding his past employment.

According to Action 5 News, records filed by a co-defendant’s attorneys say, the MDCPS “chose not to inquire with [Corinth School District] as to why a certified teacher left his employment mid-year.”

This new role may have involved Jones working directly with foster children, according to reporting by a Memphis-based NBC affiliate. It remains unclear if Jones is still employed at the MDCPS.

The revelation came from paperwork filed in federal court as part of the case against Jones and his co-defendant, Corinth School District Superintendent Edward Childress.

Childress is accused of failing to report Jones’ alleged crimes to law enforcement in a timely manner and concealing those crimes by allowing Jones to resign. The Mississippi Department of Education reportedly did not learn of Jones’ arrest until January, well after his termination and subsequent arrest.

The original criminal complaint details that Jones allegedly produced the CSAM on his work computer at Corinth Middle School using an AI tool and images of 14-to 16-year-old female students found on social media.

Jones’ and Childress’ joint trial is currently scheduled to begin on November 17, 2025.
