Fiery Corvette Crash Claims Life Of Young Port Richey Man In Pasco County, Hudson Man Injured

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A 23-year-old Port Richey man was killed in a fiery crash on State Road 54 early Saturday morning.

The accident occurred around 3:05 AM, east of Starkey Boulevard. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a Chevy Corvette was traveling westbound on SR-54 at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle while navigating a curve.

The Corvette crossed the center median and rotated into the path of an oncoming Mercedes C300, driven by a 43-year-old Hudson man. The Mercedes collided with the driver’s side of the Corvette, which subsequently caught fire.

The driver of the Corvette sustained fatal injuries at the scene. The driver of the Mercedes suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
