Fishback Claims ‘Felony’ Evidence Against Florida Rep. Byron Donalds Ahead Of Press Conference

Republican candidate for Florida Governor James Fishback announced he will hold a press conference in Tallahassee on Thursday, August 6, alleging that a whistleblower has come forward with evidence of illegal conduct by U.S. Representative Byron Donalds.

The press conference is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

In a video address, Fishback said a whistleblower approached his campaign with evidence concerning his primary opponent.

“A whistleblower came to my campaign recently with direct, disturbing evidence about a previously unreported felony crime committed by Byron Donalds, not Byron Donald’s my opponent, Byron Donalds, the United States Congressman,” Fishback said in the video.

Fishback stated that his legal team has reviewed the material provided by the source. “My legal team has now fully vetted and verified this evidence. It is incontrovertible, and it is damning,” Fishback said. He added that he will be hosting the event in his personal capacity as a Florida resident and citizen.

Addressing Donalds directly during his remarks, Fishback called on the congressman to publicly address his personal record prior to the event.

“You and I both know what you did. Let’s just be honest, and if you come to the public and share the full extent of your criminal history, I will cancel my press conference,” Fishback said. “I believe it’s better for them to hear it from you than from me, but if you don’t, I will travel to Tallahassee on Thursday, present this evidence, and let the public decide.”

Fishback also invoked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, stating, “In matters this urgent, this important, this piercing, I look to the leadership of Governor DeSantis in that sunshine is always the best disinfectant.”

Specific details regarding the contents of the whistleblower’s claims or the identity of the individual have not been publicly disclosed.
