Anglers across the Sunshine State can prepare their tackle boxes, as the recreational harvest for flounder is set to reopen in all Florida state and federal waters this Sunday, Dec. 1.

As the season resumes, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is reminding fishermen to strictly adhere to established size and bag limits to ensure sustainability. The minimum size limit for flounder remains at 14 inches in total length.

For the daily haul, the recreational bag limit is capped at five fish per person.

Anglers looking for clarification on the rules or additional details can view the current recreational flounder regulations by visiting MyFWC.com/Marine and clicking on “Recreational Regulations” followed by “Flounder.” Alternatively, up-to-date regulations are accessible via the Fish Rules App on mobile devices.
