Florida 5-Year-Old Dies After Drowning In Davenport Airbnb Pool

A five-year-old boy visiting from Brevard County died Monday afternoon following a drowning incident at a vacation rental home in Davenport, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 1 p.m. on July 27 to an Airbnb located on Takeaway Way after receiving a report of an unconscious child. First responders found the young boy at the bottom of the pool and immediately initiated CPR at the scene.

Authorities stated the child was visiting the property with extended family members and had been in the pool with other children before he was discovered submerged in the water.

Paramedics rushed the boy to Celebration Hospital, where medical staff pronounced him dead shortly after arrival.

Homicide detectives are currently leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the drowning. The sheriff’s office has not disclosed how long the boy was underwater or whether adults were actively supervising the pool area at the time of the incident.

The investigation remains active, and authorities have not yet released further details or the identity of the child.
