Resilient Florida Program funds 26 projects to protect infrastructure and natural resources from flooding and storms.
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has announced a significant investment of $150 million to fortify the state’s defenses against the growing threats of hurricanes and flooding.
The funds, awarded through the Resilient Florida Program, will support 26 infrastructure projects across the state, including 22 new initiatives and four ongoing efforts.

“The Resilient Florida Program is turning planning into action,” said DEP Secretary Alexis A. Lambert. “These grants will equip Florida’s communities to better withstand impacts from flooding, storm surge and hurricanes, advancing on-the-ground efforts to safeguard Florida’s natural resources and infrastructure.”
The grants will fund a variety of projects aimed at protecting critical infrastructure, transportation corridors, emergency services, and natural resources. In addition to traditional infrastructure improvements, the program also prioritizes coastal management solutions, such as wetland restoration and vegetative barriers, which provide natural defenses against storm surge and flooding.

Since its launch, the Resilient Florida Program has invested over $1.8 billion to enhance the state’s resilience. For the upcoming fiscal year, the state has committed another $200 million to continue these vital efforts. The program represents a strategic, statewide approach to preparing Florida’s communities for the challenges posed by severe weather.
