Florida Crime Spree: Feds Indict 7 For Drug Dealing, Robberies, And Double Homicide

A sweeping federal indictment in Florida has charged seven individuals with a complex web of criminal activity spanning four years, including drug trafficking, armed robberies, and a double homicide.

The 16-count indictment, the third superseding indictment in the case, consolidates charges related to a wide range of offenses, including drug conspiracy, Hobbs Act robberies, carjacking resulting in death, kidnapping resulting in death, firearm violations, and arson.

The indictment names seven individuals: Jordanish Torres Garcia, Giovany Crespo Hernandez, Dereck Alexis Rodriguez Bonilla, Sonic Torres, Anneliz Colon De Jesus, Cesar Silva Fernandez, and Monicsabel Romero Soto.

The charges against them include drug conspiracy, conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery, multiple counts of Hobbs Act robbery and attempted robbery, brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, carjacking resulting in death, kidnapping resulting in death, use of a firearm causing death, arson, possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, and possession of a firearm by a convicted 1 felon.

The indictment alleges that the defendants engaged in a series of armed robberies that culminated in the deaths of two individuals on April 10th and 11th, 2024. The defendants are accused of committing a carjacking and kidnapping that resulted in the death of one victim, and they were also allegedly involved in a separate homicide in Taft, Florida.

In a related development, Kevin Ocasio Justiniano pleaded guilty on January 15th, 2025, to federal charges stemming from his participation in the April 11th, 2024, carjacking and kidnapping that resulted in death. He also pleaded guilty to drug and firearm charges. Ocasio Justiniano faces a minimum penalty of life in federal prison.

According to the plea agreement, Ocasio Justiniano conspired with others to distribute fentanyl and cocaine and participated in an armed home invasion robbery. He also admitted to his role in the planning and execution of the carjacking, kidnapping, and murder on April 11th, 2024. This complex case is the result of a thorough investigation involving numerous agencies, including the FBI, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, the DEA, Homeland Security Investigations, and others.

Assistant United States Attorneys Dana Hill and Michael Felicetta will prosecute the case.
