Florida Department Of Agriculture & Consumer Services Officer Killed In On-Duty Crash Overnight On I-95

A crash on I-95 overnight, claimed the life of a Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services -Law Enforcement Division Officer.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a multiple-vehicle crash happened on I-95 southbound near mile marker 380. One person was confirmed dead at the scene.

The media was briefed at the Florida Welcome Center around 12:30 am Sunday.

“Our thoughts and prayers to Officer James McWhorter, his family, and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services – Law Enforcement division during this difficult time. Thank you for your service sir. Rest easy friend, we have the watch,” said FHP in a social media statement.

Officer McWhorter was described by his peers as a devoted family man, had a loving spirit, an outgoing personality, and was a great listener.

“Officer Whorter’s friendship to others can never be matched. He will be deeply missed,” said FHP.
