Sprouts Farmers Market has announced a voluntary recall of select lots of its Smoked Mozzarella Pasta Salad due to a potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
The product, sold from the deli service counter and Grab & Go sections across 26 states, was subject to a company announcement on October 8, 2025, and subsequently published by the FDA on October 9, 2025.
The recall was initiated after Sprouts was alerted by its supplier, Fresh Creative Foods, regarding the possible presence of Listeria in the pasta ingredient used in the salad. The contamination traces back to an ingredient manufactured by Nate’s Fine Foods of Roseville, CA, which prompted a broader recall by Fresh Creative Foods.

While no illnesses have been reported to date, the presence of Listeria monocytogenes poses a serious health risk. The organism can cause severe, and sometimes fatal, infections in vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. Furthermore, Listeria infection can lead to miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
The affected pasta salad was distributed to Sprouts stores in AL, AZ, CA, CO, DE, FL, GA, KS, LA, MD, MO, NC, NJ, NM, NV, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, and WY. Sales of the potentially contaminated product occurred between August 31, 2025, and October 7, 2025.
