The Republican Party of Florida has continued to extend its voter registration lead over the Florida Democratic Party, holding a nearly 437,000-voter edge as of the end of February, according to newly posted data on the state Division of Elections website.

The data showed that 5,303,811 voters were registered as Republicans, while 4,866,821 were registered as Democrats.

Another 4,044,699 were registered without party affiliation, while 262,641 were registered with third parties. The GOP’s 436,990-voter edge over the Democratic Party was larger than a 383,954-voter advantage at the end of December.

Democrats historically held a registration edge, but Republicans overtook them in 2021. Leading up to the November 2022 election, Republicans held about a 306,000-voter advantage.

“Florida Republicans’ growing voter registration edge is proof positive that we’re delivering on the promises we made in 2022. Floridians are rushing to the party of freedom,” said Julia Friedland of The Republican Party of Florida.
