In a unanimous decision today, Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Cabinet approved the conveyance of a 2.63-acre parcel in Miami-Dade County for the future Donald J. Trump Presidential Library. The land, currently a parking lot for Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus, is strategically located adjacent to the historic Freedom Tower.

The vote took place during the September 30, 2025, meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund, which is chaired by the Governor and includes the Attorney General, Chief Financial Officer, and Commissioner of Agriculture.

Governor Ron DeSantis hailed the move, stating the library’s placement in Miami would benefit the state, the city, and Miami-Dade College. “No state has supported the President’s agenda more than the Free State of Florida, and I was proud to spearhead the successful effort to house this historic presidential library right here in his home state,” DeSantis said.

The Cabinet members echoed the Governor’s sentiment, emphasizing the significance of housing the library in President Trump’s home state and next to the Freedom Tower.

Attorney General James Uthmeier called it an honor to vote in favor, stating, “I look forward to the patriotic stories the Trump Library Foundation will showcase for generations to come in the Free State of Florida.”

Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia noted the symbolism of the location. “I am proud to approve the conveyance of land next to the historic Freedom Tower, a symbol of freedom for so many, for the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library… This enshrines Florida as Trump Country.”

Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson asserted that there is no more fitting place for the library than Florida, President Trump’s home state. “I was proud to vote in support of bringing this historic tribute to Florida, where his legacy can be honored for generations,” Simpson added.

The approval is expected to create additional economic development opportunities across South Florida. Once established, the Trump Presidential Library will be the first presidential library in the state, providing Americans the ability to honor the service and legacy of America’s 45th and 47th President, Donald J. Trump.
