Florida Gov. DeSantis Says To Biden “I’m Standing In Your Way”

During a press conference in Panama City on Wednesday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis responded to a speech Biden made Tuesday, calling for the Florida governor to “get out of the way” of people trying to fight the recent surge of COVID-19 cases.

“Joe Biden wants me to get out of the way because I refuse to yield power to the federal government and strip Floridians of their liberties. Well, I’ve got news for Joe Biden: I’m standing in your way and I’m not going anywhere, ” DeSantis said.

“Joe Biden is suggesting if you don’t do lockdown policies, you should quote, ‘get out of the way’ … if you’re coming after the rights of parents in Florida, I’m standing in your way,” DeSantis said.

“Joe Biden has the nerve to tell me to get out of the way on COVID while he lets COVID-infected migrants pour over our southern border by the hundreds of thousands,” said DeSantis. “No elected official is doing more to enable the transmission of COVID in America than Joe Biden with his open borders policies.”

“And until Joe Biden gets the border secured and this crisis under control, I do not want to hear a blip about COVID from him or his administration,” said DeSantis.

DeSantis also emphasized that any suggestion that Florida head towards vaccine mandates is not going to happen.

“We said from the beginning, we’re going to make it available for all, but we’re not going to mandate it on anybody. It’s ultimately an individual’s choice to be able to do it,” DeSantis said. “So, why don’t you do your job (Biden), why don’t you get that border secure.”
