BAKER COUNTY, Fla. – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has appointed Emil “Clayton” Lyons to the School Board of Baker County, bringing his extensive accounting expertise and community leadership to the role.

Lyons, a resident of Macclenny, serves as an Accountant and Auditor for Lyons and Lyons, CPA. Known for his active involvement in community initiatives, Lyons holds leadership and advisory roles, including:

  • Co-Chair of the Swine in the Pines Show.
  • Board Member of the Baker County Farm Bureau.
  • Recipient of the Honorary Chapter Degree from the Baker County High School Future Farmers of America Chapter in 2024.

Lyons earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of North Florida, bringing a strong educational foundation to his work on the school board.

Lyons is expected to play a key role in advancing educational initiatives and supporting the county’s schools as part of the governor’s continued focus on strengthening Florida’s education system.
