After canceling a scheduled in-person meeting last month, Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Cabinet will meet by phone next week, according to an agenda posted on the Cabinet website.
The Sept. 18 meeting will be the fourth this year — and second by phone — for DeSantis, Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis, Attorney General Ashley Moody and Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson.
The agenda includes land-acquisition proposals in Santa Rosa, Hendry, Jefferson and Leon counties.

Also, the panel will consider purchasing conservation easements in Leon, Osceola and Highlands counties. Conservation easements protect land from development, while allowing private owners to continue using the property for such things as farming or ranching.
The canceled August meeting was scheduled the same week as DeSantis participated in a Republican presidential debate. The most recent Cabinet meeting was on May 23.
