HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla – Florida Highway Patrol was on the scene of a crash that claimed the lives of five people early Sunday in Wimauma.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, around 7:00 a.m. a Toyota Tacoma, was traveling westbound on SR-674 while a Chevy Silverado was traveling eastbound on the same road.
Troopers say for an unknown reason, the Toyota entered the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with the Chevy Silverado.

In an attempt to avoid a collision, a third pickup truck steered left, rotated and entered a ditch after debris from the first impact struck the pickup.
This crash involved five fatalities, said Troopers.

- Driver Chevy S-10 male, 59, Mulberry, FL – no injury
Both directions of SR-674 were closed but reopened around 2:00 pm.
This crash involves five fatalities. Both directions of SR-674 are closed at this time. Motorists should seek alternate travel routes. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
