A 26-year-old Tampa woman was seriously injured in a crash that happened around 3:57 am on Friday, and Troopers are searching for the other driver who fled the scene.

TAMPA, FL. – A 26-year-old Tampa woman was seriously injured in a crash that happened around 3:57 am on Friday, and Troopers are searching for the other driver who fled the scene.

Troopers say, a Toyota Corolla, was traveling southbound in the left turn lane of 56th Street, approaching Chelsea Street.

A Mazda 3, driven by the Tampa woman, was traveling northbound on 56th Street.

At the intersection, FHP says the Toyota turned left into the path of Mazda. The Mazda struck the right front of the Toyota and was redirected off the roadway to the right where it struck a building located at 4301 Chelsea Street.

Troopers say the man driving the Toyota fled the scene on foot. He was described as a black male with long hair and possible facial injuries.
