Florida’s “Black and Tan” Cruiser Claims Unprecedented Third Straight Title
The American Association of State Troopers (AAST) today announced the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) as the resounding winner of its 2025 America’s Best-Looking Cruiser Contest. This monumental victory marks an unprecedented “three-peat” for the Sunshine State, making Florida the first state in the contest’s history to secure three consecutive wins.
The winning photograph, which captivated voters nationwide, showcases FHP’s distinctive black and tan Corvette cruiser. The powerful vehicle is set against the breathtaking backdrop of a vibrant Miami sunset, with the city’s iconic skyline shimmering in the distance.

The image is not just a visual spectacle; it’s a profound tribute to the energy, strength, and inherent beauty of Florida, and a clear reflection of the immense pride the FHP takes in representing every corner of the state.

The 2025 contest, which kicked off on June 30th, saw a record 49 states vying for the prestigious title. After two intense weeks of online voting, Florida emerged victorious in what was described as one of the closest finishes in the contest’s history.

As the reigning champion, Florida’s winning photograph will be prominently featured on the cover of the 2026 AAST America’s Best Looking Cruiser Calendar. Proceeds from the calendar sales will directly benefit scholarships for the children of state troopers nationwide, further solidifying the positive impact of this popular annual competition.
