A Florida Circuit Judge has granted a protective order against Republican U.S. Rep. Cory Mills following allegations from a former girlfriend, Lindsey Langston, that he threatened to release nude images of her and physically harm any future boyfriends after their relationship ended.
Circuit Judge Fred Koberlein in Columbia County issued the order on Tuesday, concluding after a hearing that the woman was either a victim of dating violence or had reason to believe she was in danger of becoming one.
The ruling mandates that Mills, 45, have no contact with his 26-year-old former girlfriend and must remain at least 500 feet away from her residence and workplace. Additionally, the congressman is prohibited from referring to her on social media. The order is effective through the end of the year, with any violation potentially resulting in fines or imprisonment.

Allegations of Threats and Abuse
Langston testified that she began a romantic relationship with Mills in 2021, and they lived together in a New Smyrna Beach, Florida, home until their breakup in February of this year. She told Columbia County Sheriff’s Office investigators that Mills was separated from his wife when they met and claimed his divorce was finalized in 2024.
According to her account, she moved to Columbia County earlier this year after news reports surfaced regarding domestic disturbance allegations against Mills from another woman described as his girlfriend in Washington. The protective order was sought based on claims of Mills threatening to publicize intimate photos and target her future partners.
Congressman Denies Claims
Rep. Mills has repeatedly denied the allegations, calling them “false” and asserting that they misrepresented the nature of their interactions. When the claims first surfaced in August, Mills suggested they were being pushed by a former political opponent.
Mills’ attorney, John Terhune, and a spokeswoman for the congressman did not respond to inquiries for comment on Wednesday regarding the protective order.
Mills was first elected to Congress in 2022. His district encompasses a large area stretching from the Orlando vicinity to the Daytona Beach coastline.
