MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A 61-year-old Big Pine Key man was arrested late Monday night following an altercation at a local residence where he allegedly attempted to force entry.
Tobias Joel Fowler was taken into custody and faces charges of burglary and damage to property/criminal mischief.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at approximately 11 p.m. at a residence on Avenue C.
According to reports, Fowler arrived at the home of a woman, where another man was present. A struggle reportedly broke out at the front door as Fowler attempted to gain entry to the home.
During the incident, Fowler is accused of damaging the ‘door-handle-locking’ mechanism.
Authorities reported that no serious injuries occurred during the altercation. Fowler was subsequently arrested and transported to the Monroe County Jail.
