Four people are in custody after a woman was stabbed with a sword, held against her will, and robbed inside a Stock Island trailer on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office began its investigation at approximately 3:45 p.m. when deputies responded to a report of a stabbing victim at the Lower Keys Medical Center. The woman suffered a punctured lung during the assault, an injury that authorities stated did not appear to be life-threatening as of Monday.
According to investigators, the incident took place earlier in the day inside a camper on 10th Avenue. During an altercation, 20-year-old Marlon Albero Bernal Cabrera stabbed the victim with a sword. The victim told detectives that the other individuals present participated in the crime by holding her down, striking her, and physically preventing her from escaping the trailer.
The suspects eventually permitted the victim to change out of her blood-stained clothing and travel to the hospital. During the attack, the suspects also stole a laptop computer and Diazepam medication from her.
Following a rapid response by local law enforcement, all four suspects—all residents of Stock Island—were located and taken into custody.
The individual charges are as follows:
- Marlon Albero Bernal Cabrera, 20: Aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and kidnapping/false imprisonment.
- Jasmine Elizabeth Jones, 29: Kidnapping/false imprisonment.
- Zjiavon Deaute Green, 31: Kidnapping/false imprisonment.
- Arlem Cristina Silva Cruz, 39: Kidnapping/false imprisonment, possession of methamphetamine, possession of prescription pills without a prescription, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
At the time of her arrest, Silva Cruz was found with a Diazepam pill, methamphetamine, and a glass pipe containing methamphetamine residue. During a search of the crime scene, detectives recovered the sword used in the attack alongside the victim’s bloodied clothes.
“I want to thank the men and women of the Sheriff’s Office for their quick work in finding and arresting those responsible in this case,” said Sheriff Rick Ramsay in a statement following the arrests.
