A 44-year-old man faces child abuse charges after allegedly striking two children who were playing tag on a Carnival Glory cruise ship.
David Crosby II was charged with two counts of child abuse on Monday, July 27, according to Brevard County, Florida, jail records. A probable cause affidavit states Crosby allegedly hit one child in the face—causing a bloody lip and head pain—and struck a second child in the stomach, causing stomach pain.
The alleged incident occurred on Sunday, July 26, in a hallway on the ship. Security camera footage shows three children playing a game of tag while Crosby was running down the same hallway.
According to the affidavit, Crosby “suddenly stopped running and struck” the children.
Authorities noted in the affidavit that Crosby claimed he had no memory of the incident, stating he was “heavily intoxicated” at the time.
Crosby was booked into the Brevard County Jail and released on Tuesday, July 28. He appeared in court on Wednesday, July 29, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges. His arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 25.
