A Florida man is behind bars after a digital paper trail led Nassau County investigators to an RV parked on a local property. Frederick John Combs was taken into custody on April 14, 2026, following a multi-agency investigation into the possession of child sexual abuse material and animal pornography.
The case against Combs began months ago on January 5, when the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) flagged a suspicious upload. The cyber tip alerted the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office to three specific files involving the exploitation of children.
For three months, investigators tracked the digital footprint back to a residence in Hilliard, where Combs was living in a recreational vehicle on another person’s land.
On Tuesday, deputies joined forces with Task Force Officers from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) to confront Combs at the site. During a search of his electronic devices, authorities say they found images and videos that matched the original NCMEC tip. However, the search allegedly uncovered additional disturbing content, including media depicting sexual acts between humans and animals.

Combs was arrested at the scene without incident and transported to the Nassau County Jail. He currently faces two counts of possession of child sexual abuse material along with charges for the pornographic images involving animals.
The arrest was a result of a joint effort under INTERCEPT, a regional initiative dedicated to fighting internet crimes against children. Sheriff Bill Leeper did not hold back when addressing the nature of the evidence found during the search.
“This individual is sick and disturbing, and there is no place in our community for this kind of behavior,” Leeper said. “We will continue to work aggressively with our federal partners to identify, investigate, and arrest those who exploit children.”
Combs remains in custody as he awaits his initial court appearances. The investigation into the full extent of the digital material recovered remains ongoing.
