A Florida man, David Scarlott, 34, is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly unleashing a barrage of racial slurs and violent threats at North Palm Beach police officers, while also claiming to be an employee of President Donald Trump.

Scarlott’s combative encounter with law enforcement began when officers arrived at his residence to question him about an alleged hit-and-run traffic crash on Sunday, according to the probable cause affidavit. Officers reported a “noticeable odor of alcohol” on his breath.

The affidavit alleges that Scarlott was “combative” from the start, repeatedly using racial slurs against the officers, screaming, “F— you n—, get off my property.” He allegedly refused to cooperate, claiming he didn’t need to answer questions because he “worked for the President of the United States.”

Physical Threats and Continued Resistance

The situation escalated when Scarlott allegedly stood up and “pointed a lit cigarette aggressively” at one officer, coming “inches from burning [the cop’s] face.” This was accompanied by threats to assault the officers and even their families, prompting police to place him in handcuffs.

Despite being restrained, Scarlott allegedly continued to resist, yelling threats such as, “I’ll beat you and your family,” and exclaiming, “F— the cops” and “you pigs have nothing else to do,” which disturbed nearby residents.

During transport to the police station, he allegedly banged his head against the patrol car window and demanded to be released to fight the officers. “Take these handcuffs off so I can wipe the floor with you,” and “You shouldn’t be cops in a white neighborhood,” he allegedly stated.

Threats and Alleged Spitting at Station

The hateful comments and threats allegedly continued at the police department. Scarlott allegedly told officers, “If I was free of these handcuffs, I’ll make sure you don’t make it home to your family.”

He also allegedly reiterated his political claim, warning officers that if they did not let him go, they “would end up unemployed” because he “claimed to work for President Trump.” While in a holding cell, Scarlott allegedly attempted to spit on officers, clearing his throat before the attempt, the affidavit states.

Scarlott was booked on felony counts of attempted battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest without violence, and corruption by threat against a public official. He made his first court appearance on Monday, where bond was set at $25,000 for the battery charges, $5,000 for resisting, and $10,000 for the corruption charge. It remains unclear if he has posted bond.
