A 42-year-old Florida man who allegedly broadcast the aftermath of a fatal shooting on Facebook Live has been taken into custody, authorities announced.
Gedeonson Hyacinthe was arrested on Wednesday by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Warrants Unit. He faces charges of second-degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, and two counts of drug possession.
The charges stem from an April 14, 2025, incident in the Pine Manor community. According to investigators, Hyacinthe and an unnamed man got into a verbal altercation at an intersection.
The argument turned physical, and the two men “tussled” before the victim was shot.
When deputies responded to the scene on April 14, they reported finding Hyacinthe standing over the deceased man. Investigators allege that immediately after the shooting, Hyacinthe used his phone to start a Facebook Live broadcast from the roadway, discussing the events with his online audience and filming the active crime scene.
Hyacinthe initially told deputies at the scene that the victim was shot during their physical struggle. Following the incident, he was detained and brought in for questioning by the Major Crimes Unit.
Authorities did not state how or why Hyacinthe was out of custody between his initial questioning and his arrest this week.
Hyacinthe is currently being held without bond at the Lee County Jail. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 17.
