A domestic dispute in the Florida Keys turned violent Friday night, leading to the arrest of a 22-year-old Islamorada resident. Jacob Edward Stogner now faces felony charges after Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call involving a weapon at a local home.

The incident unfolded around 7:30 p.m. on February 20 at a residence located on Flamingo Hammock Road. According to authorities, deputies arrived at the scene to investigate reports of a family disturbance. Upon arrival, they spoke with a female victim who detailed the dangerous encounter.

The victim told investigators that Stogner struck her several times using a broom. Officers noted that she had visible bruising and injuries that matched her description of the assault. The situation reportedly escalated further when Stogner allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and used it to threaten the woman during the heat of the argument.

Despite the involvement of a deadly weapon, officials confirmed that the victim did not sustain any life-threatening injuries during the altercation. READ: Door-To-Door Sales Call Ends In Gunfire: Brandon Man Facing Attempted Murder Charges
