POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A call to the police took a surprise turn for a Frostproof resident late Monday night. It started around 11:15 p.m. on January 26, when 68-year-old Anthony Dwayne Milby dialed 911. He told dispatchers that he saw two suspicious people hanging around in his front yard.

Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office drove out to the scene to help. They spoke with Milby and searched the area for the strangers he reported.

After looking around, the deputies couldn’t find anyone nearby. There was no sign that a crime had happened or that anyone had been trespassing on the property.

However, the investigation didn’t end there.

While deputies were at the house, they ran a routine check on Milby’s information. That is when they found something the caller probably didn’t want them to see. Records showed that Milby was wanted by police in Stafford County, Virginia.

He had two active warrants for his arrest. One was for driving under the influence, and the other was for driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Instead of catching intruders, the deputies arrested Milby. He was taken into custody and booked into the Polk County Jail. He will now face the legal process to be sent back to Virginia to answer for the charges.
