A 39-year-old Florida man has been arrested after he sexually battered a woman while was having a seizure.
According to Gainesville Police Department, on September 2, 39-year-old Daniel Sahmel went to the victim’s home while she was on medical marijuana and prescription medications on Sept. 2.
Police say the victim suffers from chronic seizures.
Investigators say Sahmel demanded that that woman let him into the home.
Sahmel carried the victim to her bed while she was having a seizure and sexually battered her, according to police. The woman told him ‘no’ and attempted to escape.
After the sexual assault, Sahmel told the victim that he would “help her at church” and that she “better not hurt him.”
39-year-old Sahmel is charged with sexual assault and is being held on a $125,000 bond at the Alachua County Jail.
