A 38-year-old Jacksonville man is in custody following the fatal stabbing of his younger brother over the weekend in the Oceanway neighborhood.
Officers with District 6 Patrol responded to a reported stabbing Saturday, August 15, at a residence on Davis Road near Finley Road. Upon arrival, police found 30-year-old Ryan Daniels suffering from stab wounds on the front porch of the home.
First responders provided emergency medical care at the scene and transported Daniels to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
According to investigators, detectives identified the victim’s older brother, Eric Mincey, as the suspect after interviewing witnesses and reviewing evidence gathered at the scene.
Detectives arrested Mincey on Sunday, August 16, on a murder charge. He was booked into the Duval County jail, where he remains held pending an upcoming court appearance.
“Our hearts are with Daniels’ loved ones, and we will continue to seek justice for him,” the agency said in a statement.
