A Florida man has been arrested and charged after hitting his 7-month-old baby which resulted in the baby dying.
Keyshawn Wanya Bailey, 26, is charged with Child Cruelty and Murder.
According to Police, a 911 call came in from Southeast 19th Terrace in Gainesville, in reference to a child choking.
When police arrived, officers saw the baby had numerous injuries including a fractured skull and cuts on the baby’s face.
Authorities say that the baby went into cardiac arrest as a result of his injuries and was pronounced dead at Shands Pediatric ICU in Gainesville.
Bailey offered several stories to investigators saying that the baby was cutting himself and blamed an object in the baby’s bassinet.
The baby’s mother, who was at work when the violence occurred, showed investigators texts from Bailey stating to cancel their weekend plans to comic-con because he was “tired of this baby”.
Police say Bailey changed his story several times and finally admitted to investigators that he had hit his son in the face.
