Uber Driver Attacked

Florida Man, Firefighter Attacks Uber Driver Then Steals His SUV

A Florida man, who happens to be a firefighter, was arrested after a night of drinking turned to violence when the man needed a ride.

According to Deputies, 42-year-old Earl Henry Jones was arrested last weekend after he and a female companion, ordered an Uber to take them back to a vacation rental.

Deputies say Jones was having a problem locating his wallet and cell phone and became angry.

The Uber driver told investigators that Jones was rummaging through the vehicle, looking for his lost items, then punched the man in the face.

Jones allegedly put the man in a headlock and tossed him to the ground. The victim tried to escape the angry firefighter and began to ran, as Jones chased the man.

According to deputies, Jones then hopped into the victim’s SUV and drove it to his vacation rental 100-yards away.
