A Virginia man accused of pushing and stomping a man’s face poolside for not properly social distancing in Naples, Florida, on Friday.
Police say, Rayford Smith, 53, of Glen Allen, Virginia, was sitting on a bench near a pool in the Willough at Naples, on Friday, when a man approached him.
Smith said the man was too close and he told him to get away, according to the Sheriff’s arrest affidavit.
Investigators said Smith asked the man to keep at least six feet distance. The man left, but returned a few minutes later.
Smith became angry when the man became too close to him again, deputies said, Smith then pushed the man to the ground and repeatedly hit him and stomped on the man’s face, breaking his dentures.
Smith was booked into the Collier County jail and is still listed as ‘in custody’ as of Monday morning.
