A 31-year-old Pensacola man is behind bars after deputies say he shot and killed his roommate on Thursday.
Will Victor Bryant was arrested and booked into the Escambia County Jail on a homicide charge, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to an apartment along Spanish Trail, where they discovered a 37-year-old man dead from a gunshot wound. Investigators determined that Bryant shot the victim while the man was lying in bed, the sheriff’s office said.
Authorities have withheld the victim’s name pending notification of next of kin.
A motive for the gunfire has not yet been determined, and officials noted that the investigation remains active.
Bryant is being held without bond and is scheduled to make his next court appearance on Tuesday, according to jail records.
