A 72-year-old Florida man was killed on Monday after his SUV was struck by a train on State Road 326, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The fatal crash occurred as the man, from Ocala, was driving west along State Road 326. FHP investigators reported that the SUV turned north and became stuck on the railroad tracks shortly before a southbound train approached the crossing.

The train subsequently collided with the left front side of the SUV.
