A 42-year-old Florida man was killed Thursday night in a motorcycle crash around 11:00 pm.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the man was riding westbound on State Road 40, west of US 19 in the Ocala National Forest, when he collided with a bear that was either crossing on walking in the westbound lane.
The man was not wearing a helmet and was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center and died from injuries sustained in the crash. Investigators say the bear died from the impact of the crash.
