A Florida man has died after he exited a moving car and was struck by multiple vehicles early Saturday morning.

A Florida man has died after he jumped out of a moving car and was struck by multiple vehicles early Saturday morning.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, Hyundai Elantra, driven by a 38-year-old Port Richey woman was traveling southbound on I-75 in the inside center lane.

Troopers say that south of SR-60, the passenger, a 25-year-old Pinellas Park man, exited the car that was going highway speeds, and landed in the roadway.

Investigators say the man was subsequently struck by an undetermined number of passing vehicles, none of which stopped following running the man over.

The man suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the Elantra, Toshia Lizette Caldwell, 38, with a BAC of 0.077, was later arrested by FHP Troopers for DUI.

Caldwell was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail. Anyone with information regarding this incident
