A Florida man has been charged with 2nd-degree murder following a fatal shooting that occurred at a home early Saturday morning.

According to investigators, deputies responded to a home on Jay Street in Fort Walton Beach and found the 34-year-old male victim on the ground with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Deputies say the man was transported to a local hospital but later died.

He told deputies that upon arrival, he entered the residence where he brandished the firearm in an attempt to scare the victim.

He stated that the victim aggressed him and he then shot the victim one time in the torso. There is no evidence the victim was armed with a weapon.

On top of the 2nd-degree murder charge, Holovak was also charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
