A Florida man has been sentenced to 600 years in prison following a child pornography investigations
In February 2021, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office arrested Joseph Godsey on 40 counts of possession of child pornography.
After receiving a tip about a possible crime involving child pornography, detectives investigated and traced the child pornography to Godsey’s Wildwood, Florida residence, where they executed a search warrant.

Godsey was booked into the Sumter County Detention on the charges, and on September 1, 2022, Godsey was found guilty on all counts.
During a sentencing hearing on Friday, Godsey received 15 years per count for a total of 600 years.
“Justice was served thanks to the hard work and dedication of all involved,” said SCSO.
