The statewide search for a missing Miami teenager has come to a positive conclusion. Authorities confirmed today that the Florida Missing Child Alert issued for 14-year-old Kamiya Richardson has been canceled after the girl was located and found to be unharmed.
The alert was originally activated on May 9, 2026, after Kamiya vanished from the 1000 block of Northeast 167th Street.
The Miami-Dade School Police Department and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement had spent the last 24 hours circulating her description and photo, urging the public to help track down the teen, who was last seen wearing a black hoodie and khaki pants.
In a brief update released by officials, investigators confirmed that the search ended successfully. “This is a cancellation to the Florida Missing Child Alert that was activated on 05/09/2026 for Kamiya Richardson. The child is safe,” the agency stated.
ORIGINAL REPORT: Authorities in South Florida are asking for the public’s help to find a teenager who went missing from a North Miami neighborhood. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement officially issued a Missing Child Alert on behalf of the Miami-Dade School Police Department as the search intensifies.
Kamiya Richardson, 14, was last seen in the vicinity of the 1000 block of Northeast 167th Street. Officials describe her as a black female standing 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing approximately 162 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.
At the time of her disappearance, Kamiya was wearing a black pullover hoodie with white lettering across the front and khaki pants. Investigators have not yet released details regarding the circumstances of her disappearance or a possible destination.

Law enforcement officials are urging anyone who may have seen her or has any information on her whereabouts to come forward immediately.
“If you have any information on the whereabouts of this child, please contact the Miami-Dade School Police Department at 305-995-2677 or 911,” the alert stated.
The search remains active, and local residents are encouraged to keep a lookout and share her description to assist in her safe return.
