Florida Missing Child Alert Canceled: Clermont Child Located Safe

Sofia Prendiville has been located and is safe, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

ORIGINAL REPORT: The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has issued a statewide MISSING CHILD Alert for 12-year-old Sofia Prendiville, who vanished from her home in Clermont and may have traveled hundreds of miles away.

Sofia was last seen in the 4500 block of Olympia Court. Investigators believe that on March 27, 2026, the young girl may have boarded a bus in the Orlando area with a destination of Miami. Because of details uncovered in the ongoing investigation, authorities officially upgraded the case to a Missing Child Alert to broaden the search.

Sofia is described as a white female, standing 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair, which may currently feature purple lowlights.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is leading the search and is asking anyone who may have been on a southbound bus from Orlando on Friday, or anyone in the Miami area who recognizes her, to come forward immediately.

Information regarding her whereabouts can be reported to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office at 352-343-2101 or by calling 911.
