A Florida mom and dad are facing charges of aggravated manslaughter of their 14-month-old baby.

According to investigators, on Thursday, January 6, 2022, the New Port Richey Police Department investigated a call of a deceased 14-month-old child.

The initial investigation did not reveal any obvious signs of trauma, but narcotics and paraphernalia were seized from within the residence.

The Medical Examiner performed an autopsy of the child and determined the child’s death was attributed to combined drug toxicity.

Both the mother, Andrea Smarr, 26, and father, John Valiquette, 24, were taken into custody and charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child.

During the arrest, multiple drugs, including Fentanyl and Methamphetamine, were located by investigators.
