A mother and son were arrested Monday morning in their front yard after the woman fled an attempted traffic stop and her son interfered with a deputy attempting to arrest her.
According to investigators, a deputy spotted 62-year-old Venetia Berry driving a truck with the wrong license plate attached.

She ultimately stopped at her home in Crestview, Florida, where it appeared she was going to flee on foot, according to deputies.

While attempting to take Berry into custody, her son, 38-year-old Mark Dandridge, appeared from the yard and approached the deputy in a hostile and aggressive manner, ignoring verbal commands to not interfere with the arrest.
As he continued coming towards the deputy, Dandridge was tased with little effect.
He ran and then struggled with the deputy in the front yard before taking off again. Deputies found him hiding nearby a short time later.
Dandridge is charged with resisting arrest with violence. The deputy was not injured in the struggle.
Berry is charged with felony fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and driving with a tag not assigned.
