ASTATULA, Fla. – Angel Jackson, 45, of Astatula, has been sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison for her role in a conspiracy to commit bank fraud. Jackson had pleaded guilty to the charge on February 10, 2025.

According to court documents, Jackson and her co-conspirators executed a comprehensive mortgage fraud scheme targeting various financial institutions. The operation was designed to ensure that otherwise unqualified borrowers could obtain mortgage loans.

Jackson’s role involved creating and using an array of fictitious and fraudulent documents to mislead lenders. These included:

  • Fabricating paystubs that falsely indicated borrowers’ employment at specific companies, duration of employment, and income.
  • Altering legitimate Social Security benefit letters to grossly exaggerate the borrowers’ actual monthly disability income.
  • Manipulating bank statements to falsely inflate the account balances of the applicants.

These actions allowed individuals who did not meet the necessary financial criteria to secure loans, directly defrauding the financial institutions involved.
