Florida Pastor’s Guide To ‘Loving Wives’ Didn’t Mention He Had One Too Many In Georgia

A Florida pastor who literally wrote the book on how to love a wife is now sitting in a jail cell after authorities say he forgot to divorce his first one before saying “I do” again.

Leslie Williams, 62, was taken into custody on April 22 at his home in The Villages, a popular 55+ community. The arrest in Sumter County stems from a fugitive warrant out of Rockdale County, Georgia, where he faces a bigamy charge.

The legal trouble seemingly began with a Facebook status update. On December 9, 2025, Williams updated his profile to “Married,” posting photos of his new bride and describing her as “saved, beautiful and talented.”

While many followers offered their congratulations, the comment section quickly turned into a digital crime scene.

“I thought you were already married,” one person wrote. Another commenter was significantly more blunt, asking, “Soooooooo did you just forget that you were married to allegedly 6 women at the same time?”

The irony of the arrest has not been lost on the public.

Williams is the founder of Leslie Williams Ministries and the author of a marriage guide titled Love Her Like This: Loving Her Has Never Been Deeper. The book’s promotional material claims to help couples navigate issues that “have the potential to destroy the sacred relationship between a husband and wife.”

While Georgia authorities haven’t released specific details regarding the identity or number of his previous spouses, the warrant was officially issued on April 3, just months after his social media announcement.

Jail records indicate that Williams is currently being held without bond as an out-of-state fugitive. He remains in the Sumter County Jail awaiting extradition to Georgia to face the allegations.
