LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Fort Myers Police have apprehended the suspect responsible for the audacious theft of a Maltipoo puppy from Pet Kingdom on September 5th.

The incident occurred around 11:47 am and was caught on surveillance video.

Timothy Smith was identified and subsequently charged with a felony offense on Wednesday, September 11th. He was already in custody for a separate crime committed two days later in a nearby jurisdiction.

Despite interviews with Smith, attempts to locate the stolen puppy have been unsuccessful. The police are now turning to the public for help.
