A narcotics investigation into a known Jacksonville drug trafficker ended with three men behind bars and a sizable cache of firearms and illegal drugs seized from two neighborhood properties.
Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office detectives initially targeted 43-year-old Travis Shingles, known locally as “Fat Travis.” Investigators determined that Shingles was utilizing two separate residences within the Mixon Town area to store and distribute narcotics.
After gathering enough evidence to secure search warrants for both locations, the agency’s Narcotics Unit and SWAT Team moved in to execute them on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
Inside the homes, authorities uncovered a variety of illicit substances alongside weapons and currency. The final inventory of the seized items included 23.9 grams of MDMA, 18 grams of crack cocaine, 9 grams of powder cocaine, 3 grams of oxycodone, and 298.9 grams of marijuana. Detectives also confiscated three firearms and $3,717 in cash.
The raid resulted in the felony arrests of Shingles, 41-year-old Antrone Cummings, and 68-year-old Anthony Cooley.
Following the operation, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office released a statement regarding their ongoing efforts against local drug distribution: “We won’t stand for poison peddlers pushing dangerous drugs into our communities. If you suspect drug activity in your neighborhood, we’re just a call away (904.630.0500). Our Narcotics Unit won’t stop until every drug dealer is held accountable.”
