Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) appeared on Fox Business Network’s Varney & Co. to voice strong support for withholding federal funds from sanctuary jurisdictions and to condemn the participation of biological males in female athletic competitions.
During the interview, the Florida congressman focused heavily on the enforcement of federal immigration statutes. Donalds argued that state and local governments that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities are overstepping their constitutional bounds and should face financial consequences.
“If you have cities and if you have states that decide on their own that they are going to violate federal law, then they do not deserve federal tax dollars from the American people,” Donalds stated.

Donalds credited President-elect Donald Trump for his leadership on the issue, suggesting that strict financial penalties for non-compliant jurisdictions are overdue. He emphasized that local entities do not possess the authority to interpret or nullify federal immigration policy.
“They have a responsibility to follow the law under the United States Constitution,” Donalds said. “If they’re not going to do that, don’t give them any money.”
The conversation also turned to the ongoing debate regarding gender identity and sports. Donalds firmly rejected the inclusion of biological males in women’s sports, citing biological differences as the primary reason for maintaining separate categories.
“A birth sex male is a boy… They have a Y chromosome. They have an X chromosome,” Donalds said. “Boys and men are bigger, stronger, and faster. We build muscle in ways that women do not. That’s just a matter of fact.”

Donalds directed sharp criticism toward political opponents who support gender-neutral policies in athletics, characterizing their position as “lunacy” and questioning their judgment.
“If you can’t get something as simple as boys not competing against girls right, then you are a fool and nobody should be able to trust your judgment,” he concluded.
