A political committee supporting Republican Byron Donalds has launched a new campaign advertisement taking aim at Democratic gubernatorial candidate David Jolly over tax policy in Florida.
The ad, titled “More For It,” claims Jolly opposes tax cuts for working families and seniors, alleging that his policies would lead to higher taxes for Floridians on tips, overtime pay, and Social Security benefits.
The spot also asserts that Jolly opposed a measure to provide $3,100 in tax relief, concluding with the line: “Liberal David Jolly. Florida just can’t afford more of him.”
Ryan Smith, chairman of the Friends of Byron Donalds political committee, framed the contrast between the two candidates around household finances and state affordability.
“Byron has a plan to help Florida families keep more of what they earn. Liberal David Jolly has a plan to take it,” Smith said in a statement. “Byron Donalds is fighting to make life more affordable for Florida families and seniors. But David Jolly is such an out-of-touch liberal that he said giving working families and seniors $3,100 back in their pockets is ‘exactly the opposite of what Floridians need.’ Floridians have a choice this November: keep more of your hard-earned money with Byron Donalds, or hand it over to Liberal David Jolly.”
